Wouldn’t it be awesome if our pets could speak? That way, whenever they weren’t feeling well, they could simply tell us what was wrong. Unfortunately, this isn’t the case, which can make managing the health of our animal companions quite the challenge. For those situations, we rely on veterinary diagnostics to help us get the answers we need. These tools allow our doctors to learn what’s happening inside your pet’s body so a timely and accurate diagnosis can be made.

Wildwood Animal Hospital is proud to offer a broad range of routine and advanced diagnostic services to help manage the ongoing health of our patients.

Digital Radiology (X-Ray)

For many illnesses and injuries, a fast and accurate diagnosis is critical to achieving a positive outcome for your pet. Radiology, or x-ray imaging – provides our veterinarians with the ability to examine the inner workings of your pet’s body. We can use x-rays to check your pet’s bones and internal organs, looking for any signs of injury or abnormality that need to be addressed. X-rays help us to diagnose a number of ailments, from fractures and heart disease to foreign objects in the stomach.

Wildwood Animal Hospital offers digital x-ray, which is much more favorable than traditional x-ray imaging because it is safer for your pet and produces better images. Our doctors are able to review and evaluate the digital images, and send them instantly via email if the second opinion of a specialist is warranted. This provides for a much more streamlined experience for you and your pet.

Our hospital is equipped with an in-house laboratory, enabling us to run a broad range of diagnostic tests while you and your pet are still visiting with us. When your companion isn’t feeling well, every moment counts. This quick turnaround lets us get the answers we need right away so that we can focus on what’s most important – treating the problem in the most timely and effective manner and getting your loved one on the path to good health once again.

When a physical exam isn’t enough, our diagnostic services will help get to the bottom of whatever may be ailing your pet, improving the chances of a positive outcome.
